This weekend was an action-packed weekend for Team Evesham members.
On Saturday we held our annual ride leader training. Glenn Page, a League Certified Instructor (LCI), from the League of American Bicyclists was on hand to train new ride leaders and reinforce training to our existing leadership. Assisted by Chuck Nowicki, our safety committee chair, we had over 25 leaders learning safe group cycling skills. We want to thank our new team sponsor, Dave Angel and Aistriu, for opening their doors and allowing us to hold this training at their store. Dave was also on hand at the start of Sunday’s ride to meet and greet our riders. Our ride leaders are the backbone of our team! Without them we couldn’t hold the rides that we do. If you are a ride leader, we thank you for your time and effort.
On Sunday we held our “Welcome Back Ride.” We have this celebration each year to welcome in the cycling season and to get our riders together for some food and camaraderie. What’s better than cycling? …Talking about us cycling of course! This year the event was held at Rastelli’s. Chefs from Rastelli’s BBQ’d for our enjoyment and to refuel after our ride. We did hit a little rain mid-ride, but this didn’t stop us from enjoying a Sunday ride and a BBQ. We also thank Dennis Dahms for not only providing the beverages, but also holding this season’s first “No Excuses” ride. This ride is geared to those that have not yet taken the plunge into group cycling but want to see what it’s all about. We also had Andrew Demmler signing up riders for the Ride for Olivia, and Jorge Carmona signing up riders for the Spellbound Century. Both are guaranteed to be great rides this year!
Sunday also had 3 Team Members competing in the Riverwinds Duathlon and Triathlon. Chuck Nowicki, Lisa Sleeper and Barry Wolf all completed this event in great form!
Until next week, thanks for making this Sunday a great Team Evesham Event!
