With the increase in awareness and escalation of the Corona Virus (COVID-19) we as a Cycling Team want to make sure our activities are as safe as possible for our Team Members. It’s hard to not be inundated with information regarding COVID-19 as the disease escalates. So, you may be wondering what Team Evesham is doing about this for our club and our rides.
This article is being edited to reflect recent findings with the COVID-19. We realize that at the time of this article being written we states that we were going to continue our group rides. This past weekend we have updated our stance and decided to cancel our weekly Group Rides for the time being. We will consider this decision weekly and update you as soon as possible.
If you do choose to ride either in a small group or solo please take the following precautions.
- Please educate yourself so that you are aware of the situation.
- Please use common sense. If you are not feeling well, have any symptoms of COVID-19, the Flu, or even a cold, please stay home.
- Please avoid contact with other cyclists and people. Keep a safe distance from others, I have heard that 6 foot is a safe barrier. Instead of hugging, shaking hands or fist bumping, simply wave to friends.
- After the ride, use hand sanitizer or antibacterial soap. Wipe down your bike, saddle, handlebars, frame, bike computer and/or phone. Clean your water bottles thoroughly.
We are hoping that Corona/ COVID-19 doesn’t disrupt our lives too much and that the affected numbers remain low and that this is over as quickly as possible without too much disruption of our lives or our economy.
