To our Team Evesham family, while we enter into these difficult times wondering what COVID-19 will bring to us we want everyone to remain optimistic and not panic. Keep life as normal as you can while avoiding large gatherings and being wise. Everything we have heard from the experts states that we will get through this. We as a team ask everyone to remain optimistic and cautious to help not contribute to spreading COVID-19 in any way possible. Most things we hear recommend to stay away from larger gatherings, many have used 6 people as a number and recommend staying 6 feet away from people..
We understand that we communicated to the Team that we would continue our group rides with some safety precautions. However in light of some new information, including recommendations from USA Cycling, the continued school closings, the National State of Emergency, and The New Jersey State of Emergency, the Board of Directors felt that it would be prudent to help protect our Team Members, our Cycling Family and our own Families by canceling our group rides at this time. While we know that not everyone will agree with this action and we do not mean to continue the panic that some people are feeling right now we feel that for the immediate future that this is the best thing. This was not an easy decision as there is so much information going around it is hard to digest everything, however to err on the side of caution is never a mistake. We will evaluate this decision weekly and ask for your understanding.
We ask that you stay positive and healthy. Continue riding your bike outdoors on nice days, just do it either solo or in very small groups. If you prefer, ride indoors on a trainer. Please follow the guidelines that are recommended in our last message about protecting yourself by wiping down your bike, helmet, and quickly washing your cycling clothing and gloves.
I apologize that this message did not go out Friday or Saturday with our decision to cancel the rides, that little cutie in the picture demanded a little more of my time. Thank you for your support in this decision, again we will monitor this decision weekly. Stay healthy and please protect your families!
