Please join us on Wednesday, May 18th as we hold an annual Ride of Silence ride to honor those cyclists who have been injured or killed on the roads and to raise awareness of how important it is for us all to share those roads and keep each other safe.
The ride is Wednesday May 18th, 2022. Riders should assemble by 6:30p.m. for a 6:45p.m. start. The ride will start and end at the Gibson House on East Main Street in Evesham (google map link). We ask that riders honor the spirit of this ride of honor and ride in silence. This is a casual, quiet, ride of honor (+/-12 mph for just under 10 miles).
This year in particular, we will ride in silence to honor our memory of South Jersey cyclist Julie Galezniak who was struck while riding on December 4th, 2021. A long time rider with Team Evesham and other NJ clubs, Julie was a triathlete, mother, skilled rider, vivacious personality, and wonderful friend. Julie’s smile and good nature are sorely missed every day.
Ride of Silence is an international organization which coordinates an annual ride to highlight that as cyclists, we have a legal right to share the road, and when that doesn’t happen, tragedy can result. These rides take place on the same date and time all over the world – over 400 locations in 2021. Team Evesham is hosting a local NJ Ride of Silence in Evesham Township.
Details to follow.
