Hi Team Evesham! My name is Hanna Sturdivant and I am the designer for your new team kits. It has been a pleasure and definitely an adventure working with Sandy to make sure that the kits represented your team, keeping important colors and design elements from previous kits but putting a modern and updated twist on them. You guys seem like a fun, tight-knit group and I wanted that to shine through in the design as well.
A little background about me: I grew up in Phoenix, Arizona where I first fell in love with hiking and running. I believe my love for nature has caused me to place importance on the companies I choose to work for. I knew going into college that the company I would eventually work for would need to have some factor of sustainability, social responsibility, and/or environmental awareness. I went to the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising for a degree in Product Development not because I love fashion and materialism, but because I saw an extremely wasteful industry that could use some innovation. While I was going to college I interned and worked for a sustainable hats and accessories brand in Long Beach, which gave me a unique perspective on different ways to implement sustainable practices in the clothing industry. The fact that Voler Apparel is manufactured in the United States is one of the biggest reasons why I chose to work for this company. I mean our factory is pretty cool! If I have a question about how production is going on any of my jobs I can literally walk through the factory to the sewing floor from the art department and ask our sewing floor manager, Lupita! Not only does this save time making us more efficient but also creates closer healthier work relationships.
Creativity is an important part of being an apparel graphic designer but even more important is being able to build customer relationships. I genuinely love talking to people and making connections. Thank you for letting me vicariously be a part of your team and for trusting me with your kits!
